Default Vacation Fishing

Hello, I am new to the website. I actually live in NY but vacation every year in Avalon. I am an avid fishermen, Lake fishing for salmon and trout, fly fishing and bass fishing but I don't know anything about the saltwater game.

Last summer we fished the bay side of the island and the tidal flow of water is rather similar to float fishing on the streams where I live. I was wondering if floating a bait would produce anything worth catching. Do fish hold near docks or structure and feed on passing by prey?

Any advise I could get would be great.

Thanks,
Anthony
