Do most of you folks snell your own hooks?

I snell a bunch at home for blackfish.It saves time when the bite is on and you lose a rig.

That's interesting. I was taught to hold the hook part, put the line through the eye and wrap the shaft starting at the eye and moving towards the hook.

I always wet the line before pulling everything tight.

I wish I knew how to put stuff on You tube....!

I do a lot of bottom fishing, and got tired of paying for rigs all the time. So yepper, I snell my own. Youtube is a wonderful thing.

I've been Snelling with the power snell knot. It's pretty easy and strong plus it protects the line from wearing down on the hook eye weld/ connection

I use this snell sometimes works fine for snelling a hook to a leader already attached to something when you can't access the tail end.

Tried tying them the other day and drove myself nuts... I just couldn't get the line to lay right when snugging up the coils... There was a cross pattern on the outside of the coils too. Gave up after an hour lol...
