Default 2013 Skillful Angler Awards Program Winners

The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife has announced the winners of the 2013 Skillful Angler Awards Program.

http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/skwinn13.htm

Congrats to all you guys on the list...

I especially like this one....

Walleye - 28 inches caught by Domenick Buonocore of Middlesex on June 21. Domenick was fishing from a boat on Oak Ridge Reservoir when he reeled in the fish at 12:45 pm. Six pound test was used with a Shimano rod and a Tica reel. A shad rap served as the lure. Girth was unknown.

I like this one best

"Striped Bass Hybrid - 27.5 inches caught by Rob Jasonek of Nutley on May 2. Rob was fishing from a kayak on Lake Hopatcong when he reeled in the fish at 11:45 pm. Thirty-pound braided line was used with a medium action rod and a Shimano spinning reel. A live herring served for bait. Girth was unknown."

Did you also submit a photo of the fish next to a ruler? I think that requirement is bs since its hard to do & keep the fish safe at the same time. They are basically telling you lay it down on whatever surface u can - like sand or dirt or grass or leaves or boat floor - and measure it. This would be a C&R no-no but they don't seem to get that.
