![]() I just bought an Abu Garcia 10000I Big Game reel and plan on using Power Pro 50# test line.
I realize that Power Pro will slip if tied directly to a smooth spool, but this reel spool does have the little "bolt head" that I could tie to. Should I tie it on directly, or use a 25# mono backing? Last edited by Poseidon; 03-23-2014 at 12:18 PM.. |

![]() All you really need is 2ofeet or so if you intend to max your spool out with Braid or you can use more mono to build your spool up but w.e you choose i say min of 2oft of mono

![]() If you want to use mono backing go right ahead, it's not going to hurt, but it's completely unnecessary.
