Default Hopatcong Boat Slip Rec.?

I'm thinking this year of keeping my bass boat in a slip at Hopatcong. Any recommendations for a marina? If you keep your boat in a slip, do you leave rods, tackle boxes, electronics, etc. on board? What should I expect to pay for a season?

Hopatcong is where my son and I usually use the boat. It's about a 45 minute drive from my house in North Jersey. I'd like to leave it there so we can just drive down, hop in the boat, and go fishing whenever we feel like it.

I keep my big boat at my buddys house on the main lake. U have to be careful with marinas and their location. With a bass boat u have to be in a no wake zone w little traffic, u will get water over the hull otherwise, certain marinas wont even take bass boats. If u end up in a gated secure marina u can leave rods/tackle in a locked compartment and cover the boat. 2 things u must have.......a mooring cover that covers whole boat, preferably 2 piece, and new battery w an auto bilge. U can also get a season pass at lees for 225 unlimited launches if you dont fish it alot. U generally dont see alot of bass boats moored in LH and the algea is a pain in the ass. every few weeks u need a snorkel and mask and a car wash brush and u gotta scrub her down, otherwise its impossible to get off once its dry without a steam clean. And u gotta watch where ur cleats are u will get scuffs in the gelcoat from the mooring lines, Im on the main lake and have mine on mooring whips and it gets rocked to hell in summer on weekends......

I have a friend who owns property on the northern part of LH (across from Liffy island), and has a dock in a no wake zone. He doesn't have a boat this season and may be interested in renting it out for the season. It's something he's done in the past, but he has to check his current homeowner insurance regulations first. If that's something you'd be interested in, pm me and I'll pm you his details and put you in touch.
