Excellent day on the river w/ Uglystick and BrendanK

Judging from the other reports I saw, yesterday was a great day for everyone to be out there whether,hard water or open.....I hit the river for trout with a bunch of guys from this site, Jim(Uglystick), BrendanK and his mom's boyfriend,, and Rob R(not sure his screen name)...Started off pretty slow with small fishsticks throughout the day..nothing over 11"....damn guppies!!......It was a good morning to be out but the fly fisherman were kicking our a$$e$..for every one fish we caught they were getting 5......After a few hours we grabbed some lunch at Hot Dog Johnny's which is never a disappointment and regrouped.......I had a feeling the fish would start biting later in the afternoon so we stuck it out until dark and that was the right choice....In the last hour before the sun went down we ended up with over 30 fish, not everything big but at least we got some nice 16" fish with Jim getting the biggest at 17.5" and everyone caught by days end....Get out there this weekend, whether it be river or open water(if you can find) and take advantage of this nice warm trend..Jim is always cool to fish with and made some new friends also..Here's a few from today and looking forward to doing it again........Always a good time.....And also before I forget, thanks Jim for that flashlight, I am blind now!!!...Merry XMAS to everyone

It was a great time out - always fun fishing with Mitch and nice wetting some lines with new friends too (gotta hit the surf with you guys when it warms up this spring). Perfect day for it weather wise too... Your welcome for the light Mitch (should have warned you not to look at it head on) and thanks again in return for the rods...
