all the other sites geared to surf fishing only seem really quiet so my guess is that the fishing is slow but you never know

Hit Sandy Hook, Area B, then Area E. Nada -- same for the bait guys. Threw metal, hoping for some stripers looking for sandeels. Did not happen. Fnished the evening at Pt. Monmouth. Some fishermen on the jetties and also on the beach. Threw a school-bus bomber; also nada. For me, the surf has been slow this entire late summer/fall season. A few small fish on lures, here and there. Also zero trips. Daytime, mostly PM.

id like to keep this post alive! a lot of the surf guys dont leave comments but just read on and not share whats going on out there. 90% of posts on this forum is about boat fishing... nothing against you guys but i dont have 50-150 bucks to dish out every time i fish.

im not asking to burn spots but just generalize your reports.

hit up sandy hook til 1 am, nothin but skates and dogfish, used 4 different bait, no stripers nor blues. many guys on the beach, majority were using lures, all walking empty handed (no keepers).... till then...

FISH ON!

Also, fish a small boat out front when conditions allow and mark tons of sandeels just off the beach with fish suspeneded above them still nada.
