Hackensack 10/30

Hit the river for about an hour or so this evening. As soon as I pulled up I saw fish bustin the surface looked like some carp torpeedoing themselves out of the water as well. Well threw almost everything I THOUGHT they woulda hit but only had one missed strike and that was it. This was a new spot for me but definitely promising with some descent structure. Ill try to hit it back tomorrow right before that rain front pushes through and hopefully the bite will be on. Maybe some pictures to follow tomorrow?

I love reading reports from the Hack and Passaic. I don't really get out there and fish those waters but I'm glad to see them being fished and the fish they are producing. Would love to get a clean up crew on those rivers like what is going on in the S and N Branch and main stem of the Raritan.

Hey Andy. The hackensack would probably take the entire Army National Guard to get that river clean lol. I was thinking about you a few weeks ago though when paddling through the Passaic in the Fairlawn/Elmwood Park section of the river. I mean there has to be close to 500 tires easily in about a 500 yard stretch of river. Anyone know the area I'm talking about kind of where all those houses are on the water?

Hack is an untapped gem. Very different than the Passaic despite their close proximity to each other. Been spending time in about 5 different areas of it lately and still have a ton of miles to explore. May be doing a Hack fundraiser paddle from the dam to the bay in the spring with a friend who is organizing it, still awaiting details but it should be fun.

Bridgestone Retail Operations will be the recipient of any tires that are salvaged during the clean up as part of the company’s Spent Tire Program, which facilitates the collection and recycling of improperly discarded tires from parks, waterways and other public areas.

Maybe some day we can get on there and clean it up.

I don't know about the Hackensack but the Passaic is very low right now, would be very easy to cleanup!!
