NJF.com at Raritan Borough Riverfest wrap-up:
Had a great day today talking to people about the fish that live in the Raritan river. 2 tables down from me was the Raritan Borough Environmental Group. Directly to me left was Orion who is involved in the PIT tagging of migratory species on the Raritan river and who I am directly linked with in watching the fish ladder videos. To my right was the group of people doing the river clean ups now called the Central Jersey Stream Team, and next to them was dear friend Dr. Amy Soli of The Stony Brook- Millstone Watershed Association. A fan favorite was there also, Mr. John Jengo, the man who was in charge of the removal of 3 dams on the Raritan river.
Always nice to talk to people about the Raritan river, a river I grew up on as a child. Many topics were discussed, everything from dam removal to stocking of fish to the health and well being of the river itself.
I see good things for the future of not only the Raritan, but the Millstone and the North and South Branches as well.
