Friday the 13th fishing...

Took the day off and hit 2 public lakes and did pretty good with the chainsides but bass were a bit stubborn. The wind didn't help as it was 15 sustained and gusts up to 30. My buzzbait was surfing waves most of the day and - not surprisingly - only the calm water coves produced. Nothing big but some decent bass. Pickerel were all about the same in the 13-16" range but plenty of them: 40+ at each with about 8 hours fishing. I like weekday fishing sooo much better than weekends. In those 8 hours , I saw exactly 2 boats. That's how I like it

My main competition was kingfishers & herons. Apparently Great Blue Herons don't like Great(White) Herons because one GBH was dogging the GWH for nearly 2 hrs. Swooping over it, screaming at it, etc. . It was funny to watch. GWH didn't budge - apparently it likde the taste of pickerel

Pike pic is from last wed. A solid 30"+ fish that hammered my buzzbait and then did a somersault.
