Default How to Fillet a fish (you guys would know best)

So here is my latest video because a bunch of my friends know I fish a lot, and they have been out a lot lately. Prob is they keep asking me to fillet their fish. So I made a how to video to give them as step by step of the process...

Let me know what you think and if you have any tips or a different technique!

I appreciate the effort, but you should never cut towards your hand unless you want to go to the hospital. Instead make the first cut in back of the head hold the fishes head with your left hand and cut away from your body with your right hand going from the head to the tail. Obviously which hand does what depends upon if your righty or lefty. The way I mentioned is for a righty, just switch hands if your lefty. Good Luck

Nice video and not trying to steal your thunder but also look at my video of how to do similar with an electric knife that never needs sharpening.

I like the electric fillet knife! I also like your skinning strategy! Cool!

Yea, my friends are giving me grief about that too lol... I didnt even realize how bad it looks until watching the video myself. Your way sounds a lot safer, but my hand was never in any danger because I was in complete control of the knife. But def better if you cut away from your hand!

No Olive Garden Commercials for me.... Might be something in your computer. Companies data mine and watch your particular habits on your computer and where you go and what you've looked at recently and serve up ads to you. As an example, if I've been looking at something on Amazon, I might see that item I've been looking as an ad on other sites I visit. If you've been looking at Italian foods or recipes you might see an Olive Garden ad. Point is your ads are going to vary from what I see based on what we've been looking at our computers.

Great detailed video on Filleting the fish by the way..... Me personally, every time I clean a fish it turns into fish sticks... Kinda like every once and a while my wife has a lapse of judgement and asks me to throw in a load of wash in and everything is shrunk.. She no longer asks me and none of my crew asks me to clean fish either, which is fine by me
