Where are the big blues?
I was going to take my adult daughter and friends out for some big blue mayhem, but all the reports for the past few weeks indicate that all we have are 2 and 3 pounders. Any thoughts on what is happening and when the gators will return?

Re: Where are the big blues?
The surf had been slow. Seems all the big blues are offshore. The only thing I see are the less than 3 pound variety.

Re: Where are the big blues?
I dunno, personally I enjoy the 3 pounders more.. They are a blast to catch on lighter tackle, they usually aren't fussy, they are acrobatic leapers, and are much better to eat than the gators...
I would say, downsize a bit, and head out for the 2-3 pounders... The big ones are fun of course, but you feel whipped at days end, and have way too much barely palatable dark oily meat to take home... bob |

Re: Where are the big blues?
Was on a PB from PP yesterday. Caught about 3 dozen peewees, keeping 1 dozen. Largest was about 15" -- 1-1/2 # at best. 3# would be a lot more fun, but they are not there yet. The big ones must be offshore. They might move to feed on the sandeels, the current diet of the pee-wees.
