![]() That's no surprise. Have you seen it up there on the weekends? I get there around 4:45 and out by 1:30/2:00.. cars are overflowing the parking lots, with more piling in as the day goes on. With those amounts of crowds, I'm shocked there isn't more than that... but then again, it's probably in the lake.

![]() People suck. That is such a beautiful place to just leave all your crap around like that.

![]() .........and DON'T blame fishing web sites for the crowds. Jersey Paddlers, Hiking web sites and the information of stocking smallmouth in the NJ Fishing Digest drew people to this remote location.
I do keep trash bags in my truck "just in case" A few will ruin it for all. |

There is a certain segment of society that just feels compelled to dump their trash in a place where other people have to see it and clean up after them. It could just be irresponsibility, but I really think there's a component of passive-aggression to it. Weird kind of acting out, where people say to themselves, "F-you society. I'll despoil something scenic and you will be forced to notice me by what I did.". It's the same motivation that drives graffiti vandals.

![]() That blows. I've been meaning to check out this res for awhile, and now I'm less inclined to do so. The shed has the right idea by selling a premium license. If the state caught on, they could have designated "pristine waterways" that would only be accessible by the more responsible sportsmen that pony up for the limited access pass. Keep the riff-raff out that way.

I think it is more the attitude of: “I pay my taxes,……let them (The Government) clean it up!” But, everyone wants less government, less taxes, right? Well, then you get less services. When I first started with F & W, way back when, we had 55 gallon trash cans @ RVR, The Gorge, etc. that we carted off & dumped, weekly. No more, not enough employees. Same with Parks & Forests, less employees….so no trash cans anymore,….its “carry in – carry out”. Less government?,.........you got it! |
