Default Big d

Looking for some help guys. I'll be house sitting just south of frenchtown this week. It's way outside my normal territory. Was thinking about fishing the river looking for some smallies or the elusive(to me anyway) walleye. Was hoping you more experienced river guys could give me some tips on what to look for and maybe some shore access since I don't have the boat. Thanks guys.

Bulls Island is nearby... plenty of fishable water there and that's also the start of the feeder canal. Active predatory fish will hang out at current seams waiting for tasty morsels to wash by.

There is good fishing from shore above Milford. There are a few parking spots on the east side of the road alongside the mountain.

If you can access the river from shore, chances are that you will catch fish...
Granted some spots are better than others by shore but its a BIG river with ALOT of fish....

I don't shore fish it much anymore but the frenchtown boat ramp can be good...If there are alot of tubers putting in there just wade above the ramp and make long csts....Lambertville wing dam can b good at times too...

Thanks guys. Took a walk to the north side of bulls island. Got 4 smallies and a rock bass. They wouldn't hit anything but a weightless senko drifted in the current. Might try another spot on the deleware or possibly duke island tomorrow.

I agree with BigFishy. That wing damn can be epic at times. All kinds of fish in that area right now. I'd go in the evening with some rather large baits.
