Default Bass Lure from the shore?

I am just curious as to what kind of bass lure "bass masters" have been using if you are fishing from the shore lately (early summer & summer pattern). spinner? top water? football jig? crank? wacky? I presume top water for early morning/late evening and football jig during the day?

While a football jig will work in the summer it's not the best. It's a craw imitator and that's just not what the bass are eating until the fall when they all come back out of the mud. Like you said top water is my choice until the sun is up in the sky then I'll move to a senko or a crank bait if I want to fish a little deeper.

f yo arefishing water with a healty crayfish population, the fish, especiallythe larger fish will feed on them almost yr round...With the exception of during the spawn when they will hit them in order to protect the nest....It ismy #1 large fish lure y round for green and brownies....The only timei use other offerings is when the fish are in a super agressive chasing mood or in lw lite conditions...

It was shown to me by two different guides in two different M-states (fishing is always good in M-states) on two different summer vacations when I was a kid, and it works. A grub or worm on a jighead, worked as slowly as possible. Rocks, weeds, brush, whatever. Just be careful about getting hung up with the exposed hook.
