Default Lh 6/29 + 6/30

Hit the lake early both mornings for a few hours. Tried sum new gear out and started checking spots for hybrids for the upcoming KDC contest. Fish were hard to find and spread out, bait is all spread out too so thats my guess. Anyway after lots of searching I found some good marks and setup shop. Had a double header to start off the morn on Sat. and had about 9-10 nice wipers all 5+ lbs up to 7lbs. they fight so hard in the warmer water, its a blast. Also had a nice smallie and a nice perch. was back in my slip by 9am cleanin up the boat. Sun. I did some more searching and found some life near where I was Sat. but went to the same spot and started off w a triple header in the first 5 min. After that I just fished 2 rods I broke off a beast while fishting another fish and I hate doing that. Had about 7-8 on Sun. 5-8lbs. the biggest was a hard fighting bruiser that gave a new rod a real workout. Back at the dock by 10, did some spot checking from 9ish on and got a nice pickeral and another nice perch in the last 2 spots. Great weekend to fish, was quiet in the morning and very peaceful. New motor is broke in and boat is amazing, a real pleasure to fish out of. pics to prove

Thumbs up Re: Lh 6/29 + 6/30

GREAT looking phish !!! Oh so healthy !

The state had 3 in season trout stockings, any idea what happened to all those trout they put in there? Seems like the trout really take back stage to the hybrids, walleye, and muskies that are in there.

andy truth is I saw 2 dead trout floating in back of byram bay sat. morning while trolling by. decent sized rainbows, I bet they couldnt find cooler water, the surface temps were 78-79 degrees, no thermocline setup yet tho. I know alot of other KDC members fished them hard, lots of guys from land too were getting them by brady bridge and riverstyx and lakes end, the usual stocking spots. Personally I know a good chunk of the club stocking went to feeding the muskies, which I dont mind, I just hate seeing floaters anywhere. Theres so many hybrids in LH its amazing, I just wish they would set a small keeper window for walleye and let the place get stacked with them, everybody that gets one pretty much keeps them, and in the warmer water they dont taste good so why bother?

Skunk the nite bite is slow, in the right spot u can nail them all day long, the eyeballs are a different story. All summer they hit at night, they go nocturnal w the heavy boat traffic, u just cant work one spot waiting for bait to splash, keep moving the shorelines throwin the F18 behind the weedline sideways
