![]() Well after Saturdays slaughter (only keeping 4 of our allowed 6 fish), and drinks with Mr and Mrs. Lefty Saturday night, we had high hopes.
Once again at Pete's early for our pre-ordered bait and tackle and off to meet Doug at the marina for an early launch. Headed out a little deeper then yesterday based on word from a "contact". baits in the water early with crappy conditions of wind against. chummed heavy to no avail, only one short on the boat in the first 2 hours. after making a group decision I decided to move to where I had em last week. No good! Got a call from another friend that they were picken em, off we went for a 20 minute ride, anchor up and nadda for us! Now I am getting worried that I am going to break my streak, maybe this isn't as easy as it seems. Next call from another friend and off to join in another reported bite. This was the one! late in the day when we got the conditions, we got the fish! Johnny and I got a quick limit of nice 15-17 pound fish! Doug is now frantically trying to get his. We literally had one bait left and donated it to Doug in hopes that he would get his. Bam, last bait and doug got his keeper! Turned a bad day into a great last hour and a half. U I want to thank ALL of the peeps who kept me in the loop today! You will remain nameless, but YOU ALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE, without your help It could have been a real bad day. It's great to have a network and I think I have built one filled with great fishermen and friends!!!!!!!!!!! The favor WILL be returned! Fun to spend time with Johnny again, and as far as doug, I could not have a better (boat) partner!

![]() Steve,
Way to persevere and find the fish. As others have posted, what goes around on the water comes around. Pays to have a select network of friends out there. It's a big body of water even when you're just in the bay. And it certainly helps on fuel efficiency when you're not burning petro trying to find the bite. Nice early season fish to boot! Dakota |
