Rumson Municipal Ramp
Launched out of the Rumson ramp about 20 years ago and remember not good at low tide. Seen on line ramp now concrete and ok at low tide. Been launching out of Sayreville muni ramp after Keasby Boat Club lost the ramp. Wanting to fish the Shrewsberry and Hook area. Wondering if anyone has been using the Runson ramp and how has its been. Thanks for any info... WALT

Re: Rumson Municipal Ramp
Ramp is good but you need a season pass from Rumson town hall. It's right by the ramp. Be careful at dead low especially before all the stake markers get redone. Many are still there, surprisingly, but there is a wiggle as you turn around the bend towards the Oceanic Bridge that shifts a bit every year. At high tide you're all good but at low tide go slow.

Re: Rumson Municipal Ramp
The yearly fee is $100. I use it all the time and tow boats in there too. The channel is a VERY well marked stick channel right out to the main channel by the Bridge. It is twisty when you turn north towards main channel and at the first bend leaving the ramp. Lots of stick though.
Low tide is tougher with larger boats. You will get your truck wheels wet. Afterr Sandy I have no idea what will be there. Perhaps no change. Perhaps lots of change Parking is tough on busy days though [ QUOTE=JBird]Ramp is good but you need a season pass from Rumson town hall. It's right by the ramp. Re: Rumson Municipal Ramp
Yeah, there is limited parking but if you get there early enough you'll only be jockeying with fellow anglers. After 10am on a Saturday in June? Good luck with the jet skiers and weekend yahoos.
I've been out a few times since Sandy and surprisingly little changed in the layout of the channel as far as I could tell. |

Re: Rumson Municipal Ramp
I went to Rumson last winter and was chased out by local police. They did not mention anything about going to town hall for pass. No one was at the ramp at the time.

Re: Rumson Municipal Ramp
You Need The Pass.used It Last Year And At Lo Tide It Was Bad .there Were A Few Old Cement Blocks Out A Bit Towards The Right Leaving.it Also Didnt Help That Some Of The Channel Markers Were Gone
