![]() I was wondering what kind and size of battery is recommended for powering an electric fishing reel? It's a Daiwa Seaborg Megatwin SB 750 MT Electric Power Assist Reel. Looking to do some deep drop Tile fishing. Any suggestions?

![]() Motorcycle or ride on lawn mower battery, bring 2 just in case. Me, I plop down a full size deep cycle 12 volt battery but I can't move around. Make a shoulder harness for the small battery and you are good to go.

![]() I have also seen those batteries used for home security systems used. They are sealed and less bulky. You don't make too many friends on a partyboat if you insist on standing still (not following your fish) and reeling up everyone elses lines up with your fish every time you hook up. Being mobile can be a big plus. If you are on your own boat, or a charter, then use a deep cycle battery, just use a handcart if needed.

![]() 14.4V li-po rc battery. Hook up two and run circles around daiwa battery for $300 less. Very small and light compared to any type of lead-acid batteries mentioned above.
PM for any questions. |

![]() I saw a guy with a battery belted to him like the size of a pint glass using a Seaborg on the OE a few weekends ago and he was reelin"hitting the up button" all day with no seen loss of power. And the battery
Pack looked fairly small and compact, I was chuckling a bit for 120' but I bet 220 he would be chuckling more than me, with power to spare! |

![]() I saw a couple of guys last weekend on the Gambler with electric reels in 120' of water. We were all amused every time we heard them reel up. They had their batteries inside of small tackle boxes which made them pretty much stationary the whole trip. The amusement was over when they tangled up a bunch of other lines and kept reeling in.
