Default Pequest on 10-20

Fished the Pequest on Saturday, fishing both above and below the hatchery. Water seemed dark and was running faster than I remember seeing it driving by in the past, probably from the rain. Caught a ton of leaves, and found out that my waders leak a little. UGH
This was my very first trip strictly flyfishing, and I didn't catch a thing. Had what felt like a hit on a grey ghost streamer, but that could have been a leaf. Saw a couple guys land a few very large trout and when we got to talking, they said they were using 20 and 22 size nymphs. I had nothing that small. I think I need some indicators too.

Still was a nice day out and the trees are looking really colorful out that way.

Smaller the better
You don't need an indicator, just watch the end of the fly line
