![]() This is a picture of a bucketmouth I caught this weekend on a kayak at lake gerard. It is by far the biggest bass i've ever caught and didn't take a measurement since I didn't have anything to measure it with and the fish was already out of the water a long time. I measured that the length from the fish's mouth to the end of my arm is about 11 inches. I believe the fish was near 2 feet long and close to 6 pounds. From this picture could someone with some more knowledge give me an estimate on long it probably was?

![]() Lake Gerard in Sussex? If so my ex had a lake house there awesome large mouth fishing. I always did good with buzz baits tight against the shore line. If I had to guess I'd say around 5 pounds..Good luck

![]() Definitely a nice LARGEMOUTH. If it was close to 24 inches long its without a doubt over 5 lbs. If was fat with a full belly , then probably closer to 6. Great catch!!!

![]() That is a great bass. I'll put it in the 5+ pound range, too.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you gain access to Lake Gerard? I've been told it's a privately-owned lake that's fiercely defended against outsiders attempting to fish its waters. Anyone attempting to gain access to it will be tresspassed by the police and find their car impounded.

![]() Generally speaking once you get just over 20" a bass will weigh 5lbs. Then they pack on the pounds quickly. A true 24" LM bass would easily be over 7lbs in the summer, probably closer to 8.
