Fished the millstone with my trust gold spinner for a bit. hooked a smallie, it jumped 3 ft outta the water and spat the hook...got hung up in a tree short after

. big storm clouds moved in so i headed back to the car in case of flash floods. it rained for a while then stopped. tied on a scum frog and tried a duckweed patch in the canal near the parking lot. second cast something blew up on it, waited 3 seconds until i felt the tugging and missed the hookset as usual....
Went home for a while until the rain passed and hit up a local pond at 6 with a zara spook. had a few blow ups on it but no hookups again. then tossed a frog in the moss mats...same thing. after that, a small yellow buzzbait. got 1 dink then nothing. switched to a brown spinnerbait and that worked great for a while. got 8 more bass, then switched back over to topwater near the last 30 minutes of light and scored 3. hope the bad weather continues, making the action the best its been in a long time
