Default Slop Bass

Drove to one of my old haunts today, Colonial Park in Franklin. Found the pond to be totally green; not a single spot of open water, mats of slop everywhere, and duck weed so thick you could walk across it.

Perfect.

Decided to leave my GoPro in the car, as I did not feel much like cinematography. Bad move. Broke out the weedless frog and on my first cast nailed a solid 2 lb-er. A few casts later I landed a smaller fish. Ran back to my car and got the camera, wanting to record the bonanza for posterity. I proceed to miss the next five hits, all caught on camera (of course). Finally managed a 12" fish to close out the day and cobble a video together. Nice to see the old place still produces.

Great video. Shows all of the strategy, frustration, heart-break and elation that goes into bass fishing. I gave it a "thumbs-up" on youtube.

I would make videos, but I've been told I have a face for radio and a voice for writing. :-D

with a hat cam you'd be out of the picture, then you could just storyboard it or use voice changing software to narrate as, maybe Arnold- "Ya, dat wuz a strike baby, you might have won today but I'LL BE BACK!"

Thanks. I tried to make the video a little more instructional than my other ones. Almost like I was a real bass fisherman with a real fishing show.

And go a head and make those videos. You can't do much worse than my ugly mug and kazoo-like voice. Besides, if Snooki can get her own show, no one will ever give you grief for how you look on TV!

I haven't hit that place in a long time. It always used to be good for a couple easy access bass....great with the kids when they were younger. Used to have good luck dragging "stuff" across the top of that slop as well. My best out of there was 4 lbs from the big pond. Good to hear a report from there. May have to give it a try again for old times sake.
