I wish F&G would stock walleyes's in some of the local central Jersey lakes instead of trout. I've never caught one but they look like lots of fun to catch from what I've seen on TV shows, and I hear they also are tasty.

IMO walleye are the second best eating freshwater fish (behind bluegill). They don't fight all that well, though, except for the big ones. They also need relatively cool water to survive; not as cold as trout need, but still cooler than most of the smaller NJ lakes can sustain throughout the year.

Man I'm busy with work or id be out there as well, get EM BD!!! Walleye fight alot different at night alot stronger being more of a low light, night time feeder. We catch em on topwater and all kind of stick baits at night for you youngsters that don't really understand the world of the WALLEYE!!! Hell sometimes they even jump out of the water at night like a smallie, pretty sick!!!

My favorite fish to fish for at night you hear the bait coming and the eyes show up and put a feeding frenzy on great fight
