Sunday Before Labor Day, LIL Late
So wife had to go into work and daughter was at a friends. Decided to hit the streams. First stop Tobyhanna Creek in Blakeslee. Never fished it but always liked the look, guess everyone else did too! Was tons of people fishing and only caught very small smallmouths. Did see a kid catch a nice size brownie in fast moving water at the bottom of a large waterfall. Packed up and moved to Broadhead Creek in Stroudsburg, only to find most access points CLOSED! So drove to a spot that I rarely fish at, again lots of people so waded downstream away from everyone. Started picking up some trout, 2 native browns and 2 rainbows. Water was clear and cold, it felt great. Headed back to the car and still had some time and saw a spot from the bridge that I liked that bank fisherman could not get to. Waded belly high to the spot and first cast nailed an 19 inch brown that had one helluva fight in him. Must have pissed off the 4 guys on the bank because after releasing the fish they all were gone lolol. Nice day of fishing once I was alone in the river.
