Roscoe NY wins:
For fishing types in the New York metropolitan region, it's been long known as a "trout angler's paradise," but it wasn't until this month that a rural community in the Catskills was actually declared the best fishing town in the country.
Now they're basking in the glory. Roscoe, N.Y., a pleasant two-hour drive from New York City, has been dubbed "Ultimate Fishing Town USA" after winning a national online-voting competition that involved 300 towns across the U.S. Roscoe area "boasts some of the finest trout streams in the U.S. Many of the competitors were in states world-famous for outdoor recreation, such as Alaska, Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan and Florida. |

Re: Roscoe NY wins:
Love the area in general! It's paradise, really. Andy and many others can tell you that...
Lots of designated cut outs to park and fish. early morning and evening are best now due to water temps rising wit hthe summer weather. Fished the willow one evening last week in two spots. Surprisingly not to many peeps out. Caught a 11" brown on a black ant. Sulfur hatch was sick but I couldn't land any of the sippers on a dry. Tried a stonefly, no luck for me. I suck, need alot more practice.
