Default Gambler weekend tuna report

We set off Friday evening to descent conditions. Started a drift around 9pm. Caught some squid within 30 minutes. Caught a couple large Mani then a just short sword which was released. Broke off a Deadstick fish and had another fall off before the rod could be pulled out of the holder. Got our first yellowfin around 30lbs. Broke off a monster after the customer was worn out and handed the rod off during a long run. Got a shot of fish around 4:30. Landed 2 yellowfin. Had a Mantaray in the slick that hung around for 5 minutes with it's Ramora taking chumks. Got one more gaffer Mani around dawn. Didn't have much of a dawn bite so we hopped pots for another 20+ Mahi and a couple of Jacks.
The wind wasn't a factor till around dawn. We got bit on live Squid, fresh dead Squid, Sardines, and Butterfish. The Squid got spooky around 3am we had to go to the smelly jelly.
Capt. Bob shoved off Saturday evening to not as good conditions. They got beat up going out and coming in. They anchored up. He said they ended up with a few 60lb class Yellowfin, 1 nice Longfin , and a few Mahi. I didn't get very many details. It looks like we will get out the next three trips.
