Default Navesink Crabbing 9/5

Didn't know what to expect from all the storm run off but since all our Grandson talks about these days is fishing and crabbing, off we went to scratch his itch.

Lots of action, mostly shorts and a lot of females which we released. Crabbed for 3 hours, made one move and had a dozen keeper males on chicken necks and drop lines to steam up.

Tracey and I ran 18 open top traps on Sunday for about the same time .
Had 4 dozen nice Jimmy’s . UNREAL amount of throwback females .
Had to be 12/1..
Some real nice crabs in the mix .

Should only get better

Thanks ,
I’m betting your day with your grandson was more fun .

We run the traps pretty hard , it’s more work going back through them as fast as you can, but seems to yield good results .

I would say the commercial guys keeping all those females we throw back are raking it in

.

Action takes the boredom out of it with occasional crabbers.

Every try we learn a lesson or two. NICE JOB.

I'll be trying there tomorrow.
