After only catching 2 white perch on a jig and twister tail, I switched to Walmart red worm halves on two hooks and a 1/16 oz leadhead jig with 4 lb test line to catch channel catfish, white catfish, brown bullheads, white perch, yellow perch, black crappies, white crappies and pumpkinseed sunfish. Ultralight jigging is lots of fun. I still have some worms left also. I probably won’t return to using just lures in freshwater until spring time.

nice, how have the carp been? i was gonna try for carp one of these nights, and see if soaking corn in the dark will get me any fish

Only caught 56 carp this year. Used corn instead of corn meal most trips. I stopped carping last month. A few years ago I caught 52 carp on corn meal at night in the Millstone River in November. I rarely caught carp in cold water.
