Default 10/24 Short trip report......

Looking at the forecast for next week and having to be out of our rack by next week, decided to pull the plug today and get back on the trailer.

Stayed local along the Raritan shoreline. Worked the flats on every spot from Belford, PM, Keansburg , Conaskonk and over to Cliffwood. Perfect conditions for top waters with little wind and overcast skies. Nope.

Everywhere was devoid of life. Grey looking water. No birds. No bait. No fish.

Ended up pulling a 16” rat on an atom popper right off the wood wall at Pedersons before loading on the trailer.

Never saw the bay that dead. A wasteland this morning. On to trailering again and tog. Tight lines boys.

I fished from 830-330 with nothing to show. Started at Cliffwood and finished on Ideal with not even a sniff of anything. No birds, bait, not a dam thing. Was good to get out with Pops but just disappointing day.
