![]() Well fall is here, and that means one thing.... Time to fish! Kicked it off with our annual trip up north to salmon country. This year was pretty special I got a lot of the boys together that started going with me years ago when I first started going up there to start it back up again including the old man. He had some health issues last few years and I really wasn’t sure I would have ever seen him up there again. I even got to plant the bug in a few up and new comers
I think it’s safe to say Nick and Luke are hooked. So I headed up last Friday to do some prospecting... fish were holding in the deep pools and would empty out during the day and replenish at night. Definitely a slow year compared to years in the past but we had the all star crew and found plenty of fish to keep everyone exercising. With a little session I had the rookies dialed in and it was game on. We fished Down low, middle river and up high, we even found a few fish in the creeks but they were picked out quickly by the local boys. With the water being low light leader and to find out where the fish were running in the pools was key this year we found one or two steelies and a brown or two between all us but we tried. The Njf guys don’t mess around that’s all I know Nick was first to strike first time up first salmon, lukeyboy was shortly after and Scotty even finally ditched the spinning rod and went fly landing his first king and coho on the fly. U guys did great for first timers. Glad I was there to see your firsts. We have some work to do with the netting but we’ll get you there! Just be glad they weren’t steelhead!!!! Hope you all can make it back next year, and we can put something together for steelies and browns.... I’ll post these what I got but I know a lot of good pics were takn so just add on fellas- FISH ONN!!!!

![]() This was my third time going up there and the trip that has me wanting to get back again and again. Great time fishing with old and new buddy’s. Lots of laughs and antics. We fished all over the place and I got see a lot of new runs. Huge thanks to Nick for being the net man on my first ever coho. Hooking those beast kings on the fly rod is a pisser! We fished sun up to sun down everyday and ate and drank like kings. Always have to thank Mikey and Eddie for sharing their decades of knowledge up there. Wouldn’t want any other guides than those guys. Looking forward to getting back up there for some steelhead and big browns!
