![]() Hey everyone, Has anyone ever tried bunker for hybrids at spruce run? It seems like it’s pretty hard to buy herring in that area, so I was wondering if using bunker chunks would work? I’ve done a few searches and came up empty. I did find one post about using sand worms.
Thinking about using cut bunker, once I get the fish finder set up I thought that if I anchor on a drop off or some other fishy spot that might work. Any thought??? Thanks |

![]() Chicken livers for sure... Trim the harder parts from the goop for threading on your hook and chum with the left over goop!

![]() Give it a try and report back!
FYI, The Sporting Life on Rt 22 in Whitehouse Station almost always has bait. Give them a call or private message MikeyTopaz on here.

![]() A few years ago I had some luck using nightcrawlers on a drop shot rig. Caught quite a few too. Experiment with the length between the hook and sinker. White perch liked this rig too.

![]() Thanks everyone, next trip I’ll bring chicken liver and bunker and see what happens.
I’ve been to the sporting life a few times, I always try to support local shops, I just wish he would open earlier. I usually stop by on my way home to pick up tackle for my next trip. |
