Bedding LMB

Headed up to Echo Lake in West Milford on Sunday. Got a few smallies out on main lake shoreline in the morning but that bite was very slow. Headed to the shallows and found a number of LMB on beds. Missed what had to be a 6+ lb LMB that came off and numerous other fish. Was able to land a few LMB sight-fishing like the ones pictured using creature baits/senkos/frogs. All fish caught and released.

Nice Fish. We have also been finding them on the beds down in the larger Central NJ waters.

Is it true that canoes and kayaks are not permitted in any of the Newark watershed lakes? I was thinking about getting a permit but heard no kayaks.
