Default misty nite hybrids

a friend and i hit the big pond last nite. we went out of lee's park at 9:00pm to see what wanted to play. we went to the north end first and did not see to much baitfishy action going on so we went to spot #2, there we heard some fish working the bait and i hooked up with a small hybrid around 11:45pm. a short time after my friend's jointed rapala gets crushed and he only had about 35 seconds of fight before it shakes the plug free my friend managed to get a 14" smallmouth there as well..we fished for about an hour more then tried two other spots. the first was quiet so we headed for our last spot of the night.when we get there we hear baitfish and some fish still popping the surface. at 1:25am he hooks up with a 20" hybrid and then later on with a nice fat 23" we went back to lee's at 3:00am not too bad of a night, would have liked to see some waldos wanting to play but that was not to be this time. all fish were caught on surface plugs and released to fight another day

Lightbulb Re: misty nite hybrids

Sounds like the lake is getting ready to go into shut down mode, 100* temps predicted for this upcoming weekend. Boat traffic will be at it's best.
Seems like a pattern for this pond, go back in October ?

i do not think 100+ degree temps are good for googans either.. besides i now fish mostly at or after dark. the place does go through changes but so do the anglers of the knee deep club we know how to roll with the seasons. you have to pick your time out there.. the summer heat forces you to fish at different times with different stuff. the nite bite won't last much longer soon it be real spotty.

Fall fishing from boats is going to be really really short this year with the 5' draw down. Really annoys me since the best fishing on the lake is in October - November.

Kayak hybrid M&G this year fellas??

60 Inch 5-Year Drawdown2
• If the water level in the lake is at 9 feet: beginning on September 22nd the gates
shall be opened to reduce the water level in the lake by 1.5 inches per day.
• The start date for the drawdown shall be adjusted according to the water level in
the lake, such that if the lake is above 9 feet the drawdown will begin one day
earlier for each inch and a half above 9 feet and if the lake is below 9 feet the start
of the drawdown will be delayed by one day for each inch and a half below 9 feet.
The rate of drawdown shall be adjusted to account for rainfall throughout the
drawdown period.
• The rate of release shall be adjusted to reach a water elevation in the lake of 4 feet
by November 1st
