Thumbs up Re: Millstone Electro-shocking survey !

Interesting indeed! Every time it rains the Raritan gets dirty for 2 weeks. I don’t know! I’m on the fence about this as the water in the Millstone looks like dirty duck pond water. Sure there’s fish in there but some very good anglers from this site will disagree heavily. They fish it and they know it!!! Why? Because they’re locals. Fish migration is awesome on the other hand. But a 20 pound Striper sitting in a puddle with no real current will just die a slow death. Hahahaha!!!!

A reason I never fished this yet is cause its out if my way, I'll be crossing over the Raritan which I consider the better fishery if I were to fish it.

I hear that the river runs muddy but as long as it has flow + not mud bottom fir wading I might try it. That's a healthy smallmouth they surveyed out.

"A rigorous fish stocking program is not necessary, as a respectable fishery currently exists, in fact additional stocking of top predators may be counterproductive to the recovering American Shad population."

Yet

"The river is stocked annually with Northern Pike"

Hmmm.

Anyways, very nice to see em taking the time to analyze that river. I guess they're trying to get more folk to fish it.
