Son's first trout!!

My 11 year old has really been showing an interest in fishing lately and has been hounding me to go, but with lacrosse in full swing, it's been tough getting him out. On Sunday he braved the cold and misty rain for his first trip for trout. He was really excited because he got to try out his new hip boots.

We hit a stretch of the So. Branch and had it all to ourselves. He insisted on using the Joe's flies that he got for Christmas. Took a little coaching, and some lessons on getting un-snagged, but he finally hooked into his bow!! He was super excited! He did a play by play that night around the diner table for the family.

Very Cool! Remember those days well...mine are 27 and 23 and still like to fish with the old man every once and a while. Great job getting him out there and great job by him braving the elements for his first Trout. May there be many more! Congrats.
