Raritan river 1/27/18:

Got my 1st fish for 2018 ! Luke and I started up by the Headgates and got a few. Did a move down river, no love. We fished the Bound Brook bend hoping for maybe something sea-runish, looked inviting but came up empty.
Nice day out 55*. Had the river all to ourselves, never saw another angler.
Carried out trash at each spot we hit so we left it better than we found it.
Guess it won't be long now till opening day of trout season

There's always fish at the headgates. Great catching and photos. I was thinking about taking the drive to the River today, but decided to stay local. Wound up with a bunch of bluegills and dink bass.

Nice trout, was going to fish the bridge area but decided to hit a lake in mercer county. Got a bunch of yellow perch, crappie, pickerel and a bass.

You are right Lard, seems to be no shortage up by the Headgates but we did hit the Shale flats and Robert St also, always looking for the big one !
