Yellowing non skid deck
From what I hear it's from sunscreen, and I'm pale as Casper so it's going to happen again and again. Thinking of using On/Off after seeing results from the yellowing on the hull...but I'm open to other suggestions.
TIA Fin_S

Re: Yellowing non skid deck
On/0ff or liquid pool chlorine. It it's non skid gel coat is going to strip off wax making the deck harder to clean so I'd woody wax it afterwards.
Id cut the pool chlorine with equal parts of water and use a garden sprayer to apply, hit it with a deck brush and rinse well.

Re: Yellowing non skid deck
Probably going to go the On/Off route. Stuff strips off just about anything.
That woody wax isn't slick after applying? Someone who will go unnamed (Boston Pete) sent a couple of 7-11 stragglers over one time to wax the rig, and I came out to them waxing the floors. Had to skate around for a month before it wore off! Just need an hour on the boat without the prospect of fishing. Yeah...right!! Thanks Gerry!

Re: Yellowing non skid deck
Try soft scrub w/ bleach , use hard bristle deck brush , stubborn spots use a little elbow grease w/ hard surfaced scrubies from 3 M !
This has worked for me on most of deck issues ! |

Re: Yellowing non skid deck
The yellowing from sunscreen fades on its own. I use bleach and woody wax on my deck at the beginning of the season then pretty much just boat soap and woody wax after.

Re: Yellowing non skid deck
Woody wax is not slippery. Once you get the deck clean, spray with a fine mist of water, squirt some woody wax on it, work it into the non skid with a deck brush, let it dry completely and hose it off..
It's not going to last more then a few weeks but it's so simple to apply you can do it as often as you need to... You can also use it on regular fiberglass as well as anodized aluminum. Here you wipe it on, let it dry and and buff it out with a soft towel.
