Default Sunday Fluking

Me brother Joe, Tim and Art decided to do some Fluking Sunday. Didn’t know what to expect after the storm but I did know if I didn’t get out of the house, the cat and the wife were at risk..

Rounded the hook into some 3 foot swells but they were far apart enough so it was’t too uncomfortable and settled in the area where we stayed all day. Action was pretty steady in the morning though the incoming with shorts and keepers. It was pretty obvious and practically didnt have to measure since they were either very short or definite keepers… Nothing big and the fish definitely wanted some sort of meat.

Joe and Tim stole the show with 4 keepers each, Art had 1 keeper seabass and I had a nice enjoyable day out on the water

It was great to finally get out for some slat therapy and spend some time with my buds.

Till next time..

Good stuff Gerry - they are micros or no-measure keepers this year for sure.

Right but earlier in the year we had a lot of 17 to 17 3/4 fish and judging from some of the reports, a new body of fish moved in with more keepers in the mix.

Sounds like you guys had a decent trip! I haven't been out in a month due to varies reason beyond my control so I understand needing to get out on the water again and doing some fishing. Hopefully that will change soon. I think the fishing will pick up this week with the north wind! Let's hope so. Tight lines.

Change of winds, full moon next Monday and whatever fish are here will begin feeding heavy in anticipation of the offshore migration. If it's going to happen, the next month will be prime time. Reason's post about micros or no doubters is concerning. That suggest there's a number of age classes missing from the stock which if true hopefully is a local phenomena or a factor of something else other than being representative of the stock as a whole. Micros go through 5.5" diamond or 6" square size mesh requirements so unless a net is plugged, those size fish will survive. Fish over a year old and above won't be that lucky so I hope that's not the reason we're seeing those types of changes in the fishery.

I’m sure the whole trip was marred by breakfast with the Beatles
