Thumbs down Re: cod fishing

Back late Thursday nite, I reserved a spot on the limited load boat, after getting my gear on the boat it was invaded by a large group of fishermen who had a hard time pronouncing certain words???,the captain interveened to tel me that the limited load trip got bumped because of a last minute charter. Now i have to move all my gear to another boat that was kinda full. The cabin on the boat was small and heated by a kerosene salamander heater ,P U.After 1 hour steam the boat stops and the mates go down below with tools and a jug of oil. Another hour and a half ride and we get to fish. It felt good to stand after the ride on a bench. Some spots had cod some had dogs all drifting the bite never really got going. I did better than most with six keeper some had none, the reports talked about some guys getting 20 I did not see that, On a few stops one of the mates rigs a rod and starts fishing next to me He hooks up tangles my line an one other lands the cod gets his line out of the tangle and drops back down, leaving me and the other guy fumbling, this went on for 2 hours, We get back and they cleaned 3 of my fish, and what a crappy job thankfully they didn't do the other 3

I know exactly what boat you were on. Same thing. Half way out, engine repair downstairs, tools, oil, etc. Finally get out there, no cod.
