Default Gambler nj fishing tuna trip

This years NJ Fishing Tuna trip is scheduled for Sept. 30 th leaving the dock at 8am and returning Oct 1st at 8 pm. That's 36 hours of fishing. The cost this year is 480.00 dollars. The trip will be limited to 24 people. We will have some special raffels going on to support SSFFF and raze some money for a great cause. There is still some room so get going and call the office and BOOK THE TRIP

Quick question on tackle....I see the Gambler's site says no braid for chunking. Is that absolute or will they allow a 150-200 yard mono topshot backed with braid?

Jim a 200 yard top shot would be ok. Just make sure that its 200 yards.

If I could just add my $0.02 here. The Original NJF tuna trips on the Gambler were take novice anglers offshore within a group of people they could trust. Funny to see it evolve into an iron man trip. Not saying that is a bad thing, but have you ever seen the excitement of an angler catching a tuna for the first time, well.
Maybe putting together a simple 24 hour NJF trip for those who would like to get their feet wet to the offshore scene may be a better option. They can climb aboard with seasoned NJF anglers. We filled the boxes countless times on a 24 hour trip.

Andy, With all due respect this is not an Iron Man trip. 36 hours gives you more opportunity to catch different kinds of fish. Some time devoted to Tile fish Mahi wreck fish and so on. Novices are more than welcome to join us. The more the merrier. This trip is about fishing with the guys on this board. Experience does not matter. I have been fortunate to be on a lot of these trips and they are a blast. A lot of ball busting and laughs. So if anyone wants in call and book.

Smile Re: Gambler nj fishing tuna trip

I would tell you the longer the trip the better for the beginner. With more time there is less pressure and more time to,look learn and adjust! On a 24 I too have filled the box, also if you miss the "bite" do to whatever trip is over. The extra time allows you that chance to recover and enjoy a catch. As previously stated nice to try for tiles, mahi do,some trolling Etc. just my 2 cents! Hell I was asking for a longer trip, for years. Now they offer 21-48hr trips. Pick you trip and go! And enjoy yourself
