![]() Took my girlfriend out fishing for the first time (also her first time fishing). Went up to Cranberry lake. For the first 3 hours I threw a bunch of different lures out and didnt see a single fish follow. I had set the GF up with a few night crawlers hoping she'd catch something to keep her interested.
About 4:30 pm I got tired of not catching anything and threw a crawler on my line. Landed a small bluegill for my first fish of the season. All of the sudden fish started jumping out of the water on all sides of my boat. I guess the water warmed up enough and the fish came up to the shallows. Caught 2 small largemouth, and then the crappie started hitting. Girlfriend caught a nice sized perch too. Things slowed down as the sun started to set, but the girlfriend wouldn't head back until she caught one more fish. At about 7:00 pm she landed a nice bullhead and we headed home. All said we were out on the lake for 6 hours. As we were leaving she said she can't wait to go fishing again. I think I found a keeper! Ill upload some pics later on once I get the ones off her camera. |

![]() Don't forget all the streams up in that area are stocked with trout also. Look into getting a boat also, that can be a real game changer. Sound like a nice mixed bag.
