![]() Here is the weather forecast for Lake Michigan:
THU OCT 30 2014 ...STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 7 PM CDT FRIDAY... ...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM FRIDAY TO 4 AM CDT SATURDAY... * WINDS...NORTH STORM FORCE TO 50 KT. * SIGNIFICANT WAVES...TO 23 FT. * OCCASIONAL WAVES...TO 28 KT. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A GALE WARNING MEANS WINDS OF 34 TO 47 KNOTS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. OPERATING A VESSEL IN GALE CONDITIONS REQUIRES EXPERIENCE AND PROPERLY EQUIPPED VESSELS. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT MARINERS WITHOUT THE PROPER EXPERIENCE SEEK SAFE HARBOR PRIOR TO THE ONSET OF GALE CONDITIONS. A STORM WARNING MEANS WINDS OF 48 TO 63 KNOTS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. RECREATIONAL BOATERS SHOULD REMAIN IN PORT...OR TAKE SHELTER UNTIL WINDS AND WAVES SUBSIDE. COMMERCIAL VESSELS SHOULD PREPARE FOR VERY STRONG WINDS AND DANGEROUS SEA CONDITIONS...AND CONSIDER REMAINING IN PORT OR TAKING SHELTER IN PORT UNTIL WINDS AND WAVES SUBSIDE. |

![]() I live here guys.. Its a windy ass place anywhere near the big lakes.... You can charter a fishing trip year round in NJ, out in the Atlantic Ocean.. Here in NY state, I think all charter boats end their season by the end of September... There are a LOT more fishable days in the Atlantic on any given month than there are on the Great Lakes... Even the Finger Lakes are just a giant wind tunnel most of the time.. Blows hard weeks at a time too... bob
