22 lb. Tog - C&R

KUDOS to "Johnny Steiger." a local pinhooker that fishes out of JBay - first for the capture, then super-carefully transporting it to a local tackle shop for weighing - and then and most of all, for returning the fish to the water, alive and kicking! The brute weighed exactly 22lbs and was (and still is!) 33 inches long. I am told that it gave Johnny the fight of a lifetime, running sideways like a bass and then bulldogging straight to the bottom twice, before being carefully netted. Word is that NYS will not recognize this fish as a new State record, as it was caught outside the Recreational season, and that the LIF has refused to enter it into its "Dream Boat" contest - for the same reason. Whatever, because in any case, it is truly a fish of a lifetime! ! !

Wow, congrats to the angler for landing it and releasing it! His face in the pic looks like he just gave birth to the beast w/o pain killers.
