Default Little Swarts Sat 8/10

I've been itchin to hit this lake since the meet and greet that I missed so headed out at o'dark thirty with the wife on Sat... an hour drive and on the water by 6:15. First off we were the only boat on the lake until about 8:30 when one other boat showed up...then another at around noon and that was it for the day....that don't happen often in NJ! Anyway managed a pretty good day with 8 LMB (Me 7 the wife one ) Largest was 3.5 lbs all others between 1 to 2lbs. All came on a weightless 5" Stiko Green Pumpkin in 8 to 15 feet of water. Either just off the outside edge of the lily pads or just inside the first break in them. Took a while to figure out what they wanted (threw everything from top to bottom) most fish bit after 9:30 until about 1. Off the water at two. Had to work a little but not a bad day considering. Had something hit a 1/2 oz swimming jig in 20 feet of water...peeled drag like it was a baitrunner for a few seconds then "snip" it was gone...big toothy maybe? Felt like a train.

Will definitely go back there again. Here's a pic of the biggest one.

.

Great report.

No wonder I got the skunk....you caught all the fish!

I didn't see a lot of boat traffic on the water Sunday evening, either. One bass boat and an enormous pontoon boat the size of my apartment. The pontoon boat was actually trolling. Just imagine an enormous pontoon boat in that small lake (made smaller by a jungle of weeds) with multiple rods mounted on each side rail going around and around and around.

Some beautiful houses along that lake. I wouldn't mind living there. Hell, I wouldn't mind living on that big pontoon boat.
