Default Fall 2013 Striper Run

So when you think the fall striper run will be this year? I have to plan for 2 weeks time off in Sept/Nov. wondering which 2 weeks should I pick to get a best shot at famous Raritan Bay Striper fishing. Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge/experiences.

Check the November full moon / tides that work in favor with the time you are fishing... ie.. if its full on Sat - try to be out there Tues Wed Thurs after the moon and make sure you have favorable tides...

Also would be nice to know if you are surf fishing, boat fishing, day fishing, night fishing - since it all makes a difference

For instance - you take that week in November off and you know you will only be able to fish 3 or 4 out of the seven days - work those days to have good tides in the time you will be able to fish...

As of Sept - you should be more focused on albie fishing that time than bass fishing.. depends on how cold Sept is..

As for locations, dont wait for fish to find you - you go find the fish...

Good luck and tight lines...

All good points made in the above response. Late October early November are good bets if you have to plan this far in advance. Also remember if you are boat fishing that we get some honking wind sometimes in the Fall that can make it a pretty snotty day on the water. A screaming NW wind, which is fairly common in the Fall, can make Raritan Bay virtually unfishable but down the beach in the ocean in that same wind is do-able if you can get across the bay safely.

Water temps are key. When it starts getting chilly the bass strap on the feed bag.

I will be fishing for stripers on boat; have 23' GW Gulfstream. I usually fish within Raritan Bay, Embrose, SH Reef. not too far. If the winds won't be favouable for small boat, I'm sure fishermen will be out there chasing the big ones. most of my two weeks will be fishing I'm thinking first 2 weeks of Nov. thanks for all the help folks. Much appreciated.
