Default Offshore Sea Bass - Big Jamaica

Sailing 11PM Every Tuesday – Thursday – Friday & Saturday
& Monday Presidents Day (Sails Sunday Night)

1-21 Offshore Sea Bass report

Just when you thought it could not, get any better, it does! We had another great day on the offshore wrecks again today with limit catches of Giant Sea Bass for everyone and limit catches of Jumbo Porgies for many, plus bluefish, a weakfish and another bonito!

Fishing started out as a slow pick in the dark. Once the sun rose it picked up and, as the day went on, fishing continued to improve.
Giant Sea Bass, Jumbo Porgies and some bluefish schooled up 30’ to 35’ thick, under the boat.
Most passengers used clams but many did well jigging with either a Silver jig or a gold jig and teaser.

The pool winners were:
Yiz Huang from Linhurst NJ with a 6.7LB Sea Bass, his limit of sea bass and 18 jumbo porgies,
Kevin Holden from Westhampton NJ with a 6LB Sea Bass, his limit of sea bass and 18 jumbo porgies.

A few other notable catches were:
Shelton Shevers from Maryland with his limit of Giant Sea Bass and Jumbo Porgies,
Arthur Spatafore from Browns Mills NJ caught his limit of Sea Bass & Porgies,
Steve Moran from Point Pleasant Beach caught his limit of Giant Sea Bass, Jumbo Porgies and a nice weakfish.
Carlton Reese from Kew Gardens NY caught his limit of sea bass and 10 porgies,
Richie Schwartz caught his limit of sea bass and 18 porgies.

It looks good for upcoming trips. The water temperature is still 53 degreees offshore so, the Sea Bass & Porgies should continue to migrate to the 50 to 75 mile wrecks.
The big Jamaica is scheduled to sail offshore every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday leaving 11PM the night before.

We have also added a trip for Monday , Presidents Day sailing 11PM the night before.
