Default black or Chrome?

When purchasing offshore rods, hardware plays a major roll in the overal cost per unit. The photo shows both Aftoc Chrome, or black on WO66 roller guides. Chrome is generally $30-40- less per set. Which is actually the best choice?

I have to go with the black Kevin. They both look great, but being partial to my fish poison rods in all black makes it an easy choice...guess it's all a matter of personal preference.

The Black finish is actually better against corrosion. As with most products with Chrome coatings the "Brass adherent" oxidizes a greenish crust, or corrosion. Once it starts its downhill from there.
HD. I agree, the black looks better as well.

Why wouldn't they use stainless steel instead of chrome?

The frame is stainless. They use Brass as the adherent to make the shiny chrome layer stick to the frame. When the brass oxidizes it looks more like electrolosys corrosion, mostly greenish in color.
