Passaic River 4/27
Planned on takin the johnboat up to echo lake (nwcdc) but upon arrival the windy, choppy conditions made me reconsider. Decided to take it down to the river instead.
Fished for a few hours in some "way off the beaten path" spots. Unfortunately the wind and slight swell from recent rain made for tough conditions. Managed to land a couple decent perch and battled a slob carp. No bass or pike to be found, but still a great day out on the water.

Re: Passaic River 4/27
Water still really high? I was up there on Wednesday with the kayak and decided against launching since the levels were up over the banks still.

Re: Passaic River 4/27
I didn't have time for the kayak today and wanted to try a new double blade/arm spinner bait. Second cast from shore I landed this 28" skinny pike. another 20 minutes without a bite and then off to work. I must have hit him in the head with the spinner bait.
