Default Lake Champlain

So my buddy and I are thinking about hitting up the big lake for a few days but have never been there before. We're thinking about going up in June or July. We'll be bringing his bass boat up with us. If anyone can offer any kind of recommended sleeping accomodations, fishing areas, or any info at all, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

I go at the end of June and always do well. Launch out of Ticonderoga; there are plenty of hotels there, but you have to book early because they fill up with tourists and tournament fishermen. I usually fish from Ticonderoga north to Crown Point, that section of the lake is LOADED with largemouths!

It seems like every time I go up there, a different lure is the hot choice. In the past it's been everything from topwaters to senkos. Check out my Youtube channel for some videos on fishing Champlain, it might give you a jumping off point.

Best of luck, you should have a blast!

Good to hear Lard, although I think we might try to focus on the smallmouths a little more. But I guess we will make that decision when we start getting a better idea of where we're launching from and how far of a boat ride we're looking at. We've heard of the grasses and pads towards the south, and the more rocky/hump sections of the north.

If you want smallies, you could fish more north on Champlain, or you could give Lake George a try, which is right next door. Pretty lake, crystal clear water.
